Summer 2026 · Starts June 29

A good way to spend a Brooklyn Heights afternoon.

Piano and paint, and the small wins that come with them.

Afternoon classes for kids ages 3 to 12, three minutes from the Promenade at 141 Montague Street. You pick a class and a time that fits your week, and we hold the spot until summer starts.

What & when

A week at the studio.

The classes

Two classes open now. More on the way.

We're starting with the two things kids take to fastest: a real piano and a real easel. The rest of the studio opens up as the summer goes on.

Open now

Music (Piano)

Small-group piano with a teacher who actually plays. Kids learn to read a line of music and pick out a melody, and they get comfortable sitting down at the keys.

Open now

Art (Drawing & Painting)

Real brushes and real mess. Drawing and painting where the point is making something of your own, not coloring inside someone else's lines.

The studio

A bright room on Montague Street.

141 Montague Street sits right in the middle of Brooklyn Heights, an easy walk from home for most of the neighborhood. Brownstone light through the front windows, a real piano in the corner, and tables we don't mind getting paint on.

  • From the team behind Gifted and Talented KidsSame family, same care as our Greenpoint preschool, brought to the Heights for the summer.
  • Small groups, real attentionEach class stays small so every child gets time at the piano or the easel.
  • Walkable from the whole neighborhoodRight on the main street, near the Promenade, the library, and the train.
How it works

Three steps, then we hold the spot.

No app to download and nothing to pay online. You tell us what fits your week, and a real person from the studio writes back.

STEP 01

Pick a class

Piano or art to start. Tell us if you want first dibs on chess, clay, theater, or coding when they open.

STEP 02

Choose an afternoon

Find your child's age slot on the weekly schedule and name the days that work. We'll confirm your spot.

STEP 03

Reserve a spot

Send the short form below or call. We reply with the details and hold your child's place for the summer.

Why we do this

Every child is gifted at something. Summer is for finding it.

Some kids light up the second they hit a piano key. Others go quiet and happy with a brush in hand. You can't really tell which until they try, and a long summer afternoon is about the right amount of room to find out.

So we keep it simple. A real instrument and real materials. A teacher who pays attention. And enough time to get past the first few awkward minutes into the part where it gets good.

Reserve a spot

Tell us a little, we take it from there.

Fill this in and a real person from the studio follows up, usually the same day. Prefer to talk? Call or email us directly.
